david bowie influence on the human heart

Everything has changed. Since David died my perspective on the world has flipped inside out and I don't know exactly what that means. I guess it's just a way of saying he is no longer in the flesh but he is not really gone. This is an entirely and exquisitely personal reality. When I need to understand why everything has changed he is there, in my heart certainly. Yet the deep shadows in my soul that his death has uncovered tell me I need to define Bowie on my own terms.

I can truthfully confess that he has always been mine. His heart and his voice. His skin and his smile. His courage and his audacity. Mine and mine alone. There is no feeling of ownership even though he belongs to me. I do not remember ever being hurt by jealousy or sadness. I have always loved David Robert Jones and I always will. He was born to be loved.

repetition lyrics by david bowie

Repetition
Johnny is a man
And he's bigger than you
But his overheads are high
And he looks straight through when you ask him how the kids are
He'll get home around seven
'Cause the chevy's real old
And he could have had a cadillac
If the school had taught him right
And he could have married Anne with the blue silk blouse
He could have married Anne with the blue silk blouse
And the food is on the table
But the food is cold
(Don't hit her)
"Can't you even cook?
What's the good of me working when you can't damn cook?"
Well Johnny is a man
And he's bigger than her
I guess the bruises won't show
If she wears long sleeves
But the space in her eyes shows through
And he could have married Anne with the blue silk blouse
He could have married Anne with the blue silk blouse
Shows through
Shows through
Shows through

rock n roll suicide lyrics

Time takes a cigarette, puts it in your mouth
You pull on your finger, then another finger, then your cigarette
The wall to wall is calling, it lingers, then you forget
Ohhh, you're a rock 'n' roll suicide
You're too old to lose it, too young to choose it
And the clock waits so patiently on your song
You walk past a cafe but you don't eat when you've lived too long
Oh, no, no, no, you're a rock 'n' roll suicide
Chev brakes are snarling as you stumble across the road
But the day breaks instead so you hurry home
Don't let the sun blast your shadow
Don't let the milk float ride your mind
You're so natural, religiously unkind
Oh no love! You're not alone
You're watching yourself but you're too unfair
You got your head all tangled up
But if I could only make you care
Oh no love! You're not alone
No matter what or who you've been
No matter when or where you've seen
All the knives seem to lacerate your brain
I've had my share, I'll help you with the pain
You're not alone
Just turn on with me and you're not alone
Let's turn on with me and you're not alone
Gimme your hands 'cause you're wonderful
Gimme your hands 'cause you're wonderful
Oh gimme your hands
